Festival of Irish Choreography

In partnership with Project Arts Centre & Dance Ireland

Dancer From The Dance is a four-day festival of Irish choreography showcasing established and emerging Irish choreographers from Ireland and the Irish diaspora.

Curated by John Scott, the Festival features the dances of choreographers Darrah Carr, Oona Doherty, Justine Doswell, Aoife McAtamney, Mary Nunan, Liam Ó Scanláin, Dylan Quinn, John Scott, Mufutau Yusuf who represent a wide perspective of contemporary Irish identity and varying influences on Irish dance from traditional to contemporary.

The Festival Dancer From The Dance-New Dance Ireland was launched at 92nd Street Y in New York in April 2019 in collaboration with Irish Arts Center, guest curated by John Scott and supported by Culture Ireland.

DanceHouse Percussive Dance Masterclass, 3pm: Darrah Carr & Dancers

DanceHouse Introduction to Distributed Ledger Technology and Blockchain: What decentralisation means for data ownership and trust: Archive and authorship on the intelligent web, 5:30pm. Presented by Saad Shahid (software engineer, CeADAR Research Centre, UCD) and Fiona Delaney (founder, Origin Chain Networks. Delaney is an open innovation practitioner and expert member of the IDA's Blockchain Ireland group and a national representative on NSAI, and global standards bodies ISO and ITU).

DanceHouse Contemporary Irish Identity and the Dancing Body - Panel Discussion, 6:30pm: Panelists include Dr Aoife McGrath, Mariam Ribon, Darrah Carr, Rachel Donnelly, Kiribu. Panel moderated by Michael Seaver.
